What if I am new to MUN?
New participants are DEFINITELY welcome! All our chairs and the secretariat were once in your place, and we all claim that MANORMUN is the safest place to start your MUN journey! Model United Nations is a student-led simulation of the United Nations. Participants will deliver speeches, engage in debates, and collaborate to form resolutions to some of today's toughest challenges. In most committees, students will represent a country of the world that will be assigned in advance. They will assume the role of an ambassador of that country as they debate the topics with student representatives of other countries. The chair of your committee will help you learn the procedures.
If you are participating in the International Court, the procedures will be taught to you in workshops during the conference. You will assume the role of a lawyer or a witness in a trial to solve a conflict between countries, or in a trial to prosecute an individual of committing a crime against humanity.
The best you can do to prepare is to familiarize yourself with the topics, feel free, and it is better to write a resolution for the topics before time for time purposes, but it is not a requirement!
Inquiries Related to Courts:
What do I do If I don't know how courts work?
Court simulations are one of the most fun experiences ever! Do not worry, our Courts' Presidents are the friendliest people and they will be explaining all court procedures on conference day along with a start off game to help delegates get used to procedures.
How can I prepare for Courts?
Roles as lawyers or witnesses will be assigned on conference day, so all the delegates can do is read the case files and understand the accusations of the prosecution and defence teams.
